WWFuNEWS:
SPECIAL REPORT - UFC & FORMER WWE CHAMPION BROCK LESNAR 'VERY, VERY SICK'
WWFuWRESTLING.com - (Manchester, England - Nov.14,
2009) - Brock Lesnar will not be back in the UFC anytime soon, according to UFC president Dana White. Speaking with the media after UFC 105, White indicated the heavyweight champion is
very ill and will be out of action for the foreseeable future. He went on to state that an interim title match might need
to be set up.
White did little to shed light on the specifics
of Lesnar's condition, but he did say that the champion has been hospitalized. "He's
in a hospital up in North Dakota somewhere right now," said White. "He went to Canada and some bad stuff happened to him,
so we've got to figure it out. "He doesn't want to talk about
it publicly, but he's in bad shape. He's not well and he's not going to be getting well anytime soon."
Lesnar pulled out of his Nov. 18 heavyweight title match
with top contender Shane Carwin, and reports suggested he had swine flu. But when rumors began to circle about the rescheduled
Jan. 2 date being in jeopardy, it was announced that Lesnar had mononucleosis and could be out even longer than originally
thought.
Now, after White's comments, it is apparent that
Lesnar is in more dire shape. He is not only suffering from mono but other ailments as well. "He
has other problems too," continued White, fielding a question about his diagnosis of mononucleosis. "He is not good. He is
very, very sick and he's going to be out for a while."
White went on to state that the UFC would be doing
everything in its power to help Lesnar. "I am worried about it,"
said White of his biggest star's medical situation. "You know, I can't really talk about it right now, but he's in rough shape.
He's in really bad shape … and we're going to have to do some stuff to take care of this guy. He is not well and he's
not getting any better. "We're going to have to send
him to the Mayo Clinic or to Scripps, or one of those really good hospitals to figure out what's wrong with this guy."

Shane McMahon leaving WWE

WWFuWRESTLING.com
- (October 16, 2009) NEW YORK - Shane McMahon, executive vice president of global media for World Wrestling Entertainment
(WWE) will resign from the company at the end of the year, he announced on Friday.
The son of Vince McMahon, the company's
chairman and CEO, and a part-time professional wrestler, McMahon was credited with expanding the business' global reach through
agreements that ensured WWE programs would be aired in over 20 additional countries. That included a widely publicized 2007
deal in Brazil that allowed that country's TV stations to carry "RAW" and "SmackDown".
Shane
McMahon is the fourth generation to be involved in a business that his great-grandfather, Jess McMahon, founded... after Vince
McMahon Sr. and Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
"I have never even considered a future outside the walls of the WWE," McMahon
said in a statement. "However, sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and while it is the most difficult decision I have
ever made, it is time for me to move on."
His father, Vince McMahon added: “Even though I am personally
saddened by Shane’s decision to leave the company, I am proud of the enormous contributions he has made. He will unquestionably
bring passion, commitment and extensive business experience to any endeavor he pursues."
This marks the second time
in a just over a month that a member of the McMahon clan has resigned from WWE. Vince McMahon's wife, Linda, stepped down
as the company's CEO in September to seek the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Connecticut.
It has been rumored
that Stephanie McMahon, Shane's sister and WWE's head of creative writing, is next in line to take over the company from her
father.

WWFuNEWS:
Captain Lou Albano passes away.
WWFuWRESTLING.com - (October 14, 2009) Larger-than-life figure and pop culture icon Captain Lou Albano has died
in his home in New York. He was 76.
The man responsible for helping define the 80's as well as transform the gritty
sport of pro-wrestling into a cult sensation, died Wednesday morning of natural causes.
It wasn't made clear what the
exact cause of death was, but an official with WrestlersRescue, an organization that helps raise money for retired wrestler's
health care, said Albano was placed under hospice care earlier this week.
Although many wrestling fans knew Albano
from the ring, others knew him as the man who played Cyndi Lauper's father in the smash 1983 music video "Girls Just Want
To Have Fun." The short cameo - single-handedly - catapulted him to pop icon status.
Albano, whose wrestling career
spanned over 40 years, was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame in 1996 and into the WWFu Hall of
Fame in 2005. The seasoned veteran eventually found his true calling in the corner of the ring, managing other wrestlers for
several years.
A native to Mount Vernon, New York, Albano reportedly spent his final days in his Mahopac home surrounded
by loved ones.

WWFuNEWS: Dawn Marie's WrestlersRescue close to procuring Health-Care
Program for Professional Wrestlers
When WWFu Underground Babe and former WWE diva Dawn
Marie Damatta started the WrestlersRescue foundation over a year ago, one of her main goals was to establish a health care
program for professional wrestlers -- past and present -- and their families.
That noble yet highly ambitious goal is very close to
becoming a reality, Damatta said.
“I am within months of the first national health
care program for professional wrestling,” Damatta told me in a telephone interview. “We just have a few little
things to work out, but we’re very close. Two major companies are bidding for it right now.
"It’s going to change the industry in such a positive
way," she added, her voice cracking with emotion. "I'm helping people that deserve to be helped."
The fact that pro wrestlers have never had health benefits
or pensions is something that has been talked about in pro wrestling circles for years, but nothing had ever come of it. More
attention was brought to the challenges facing wrestlers – especially as they get older – in the movie The
Wrestler.
Anyone who has ever had a contract with WWE, WCW, ECW
or TNA is eligible, as are wrestlers from the territories era. There most likely will be a separate policy for independent
wrestlers, Damatta said.
“The application has to come through our doors and get approved. Once it comes across
my desk, I will either approve or not approve whether this person was a person in our industry,” she said. “Once
we approve that they are actually a member of our community, they are able to purchase health care, the same health care that
any Fortune 500 company would have at the same rate.
“We will have family packages. We will have prescription
and major medical. We will have different levels of packages depending on what you can afford, or we can do different types
of co-pays like any insurance. We will have a disability package. In the real word, if you are disabled, you get disability.
They way we’re getting our package put together, disability by definition means unable to work for a period of time.
Because most people when they break their leg, they can still go to work and sit behind a desk. When we break our leg, we
can’t go to work. So there will be compensation and a disability packet.
"With the health care, there’s no high-risk category;
it’s normal category. The thing I think people don’t understand, is that when you work with a major [wrestling]
company, we don’t have heath insurance. We don’t even have anything to purchase into with our own money. And if
we do, we’re considered high risk and we can’t even afford it. Not only can we not afford it for ourselves, we
can’t afford it for our families.”
